Business Astrology: Linking Zodiac Signs to Personality Tests
Hello everyone,
We’re about to embark on a fun, exploratory exercise! Before we begin, I’d like to share that this post is meant purely in jest. While I appreciate the appeal and tradition of astrology, my personal journey in leadership and team-building has been informed more by structured personality assessment tools, like Myers-Briggs (MBTI), DISC, and CliftonStrengths. These tools have often been jokingly referred to as “Business Astrology” because of how people use them to categorize work styles and team dynamics.
But what if we took that idea literally? What if we mapped the 12 zodiac signs to common personality traits found in business-oriented assessments? While this is just for fun, it might offer an amusing perspective on how astrological traits could align with workplace behavior.
What is Business Astrology?
“Business Astrology” isn’t a real science, but it’s a lighthearted way to explore personality traits in the workplace. Many professionals turn to MBTI, DISC, and CliftonStrengths to understand themselves and their colleagues better. These tools help with communication, leadership development, and even hiring decisions. Astrology, on the other hand, has been used for centuries to interpret personality traits based on birth charts.
While the two are very different in their origins and methodology, they share a common appeal: people love frameworks that help explain behavior and relationships. Whether you believe in astrology or prefer evidence-based assessments, there’s no denying that both offer intriguing ways to think about personality.
Zodiac Signs as Business Personalities
Here’s an amusing attempt at mapping zodiac signs to business personality traits using MBTI, DISC, and CliftonStrengths:

A Few Fun Observations:
- Aries (The Leader): Natural-born competitors, Aries aligns well with DISC’s Dominance (D) type and CliftonStrengths’ Command trait.
- Taurus (The Steady Worker): Methodical and reliable, Taurus mirrors the S (Steadiness) type in DISC and the Consistency strength in CliftonStrengths.
- Gemini (The Communicator): Quick-witted and social, Geminis share traits with MBTI’s ENTP and CliftonStrengths’ WOO (Winning Others Over).
- Cancer (The Empath): Deeply intuitive, Cancers match MBTI’s INFJ and CliftonStrengths’ Empathy.
- Leo (The Charismatic Leader): A natural performer, Leos align with DISC’s Influence (I) and CliftonStrengths’ Self-Assurance.
- Virgo (The Analyst): Practical and detail-oriented, Virgos embody MBTI’s ISTJ and the Analytical strength in CliftonStrengths.
(And so on for the rest of the signs!)
Do Personality Tests and Astrology Really Work?
While personality assessments can provide insights into strengths, communication styles, and teamwork, they should never be used as the sole factor in decision-making. Similarly, astrology, while fun, lacks scientific backing when it comes to predicting workplace success.
However, both can spark interesting discussions! Many leaders use personality frameworks to build stronger teams, encourage self-awareness, and improve workplace dynamics.
What’s Your Business Zodiac Sign?
Now it’s your turn!
- Do you see yourself reflected in this list?
- Do you think your sign was spot-on or way off?
- Which personality framework do you prefer—MBTI, DISC, CliftonStrengths, or good old-fashioned astrology?
